Toronto Pearson International Airport

Description:
The Toronto Pearson International Airport is the largest and busiest airport in all of Canada. Isolatek International is the only manufacturer able to provide all fire resistive material types to address each construction assembly.

Products:
CAFCO® SprayFilm® was applied to interior structural-steel columns that are exposed to view in large, expansive areas of the airport. CAFCO SprayFilm was selected due to its water-based formulation, extremely durable and decorative aesthetic, and ability to satisfy the hourly fire resistance rating requirements.

CAFCO® 300 was utilized in areas of the airport requiring commercial-density Spray-Applied Fire Resistive Material (SFRM). In these areas, CAFCO 300 is concealed behind finished ceilings and left exposed in all areas exceeding a height of 10 feet.

CAFCO® 400 was the SFRM of choice for structural-steel columns and beams below 10 feet in areas subjected to higher levels of physical abuse. CAFCO 400 combines superior medium-density SFRM physical performance characteristics due, in large part, to its cement-based formulation. This, combined with its superior fire resistive performance per unit thickness, makes CAFCO 400 unmatched in the medium-density SFRM category.

CAFCO-BOARD® is a rigid, mineral wool, fire resistive board that is mechanically fastened to structural-steel columns, beams and decking. CAFCO-BOARD was used to protect perimeter beams and columns in select areas where heating due to cold, winter temperatures was not possible. With no water required during installation, CAFCO-BOARD can be installed at any temperature and regardless of the substrate condition.
