SEA-TAC International Airport

Description:
The design of SEA-TAC International Airport incorporates large, open, expansive floor plans in the atrium areas. Structural steel was left exposed and incorporated into the design of the atrium areas.
Products:
CAFCO® SprayFilm® was applied to round, structural-steel columns in the large atrium portion of the building. These columns are exposed to view and adjacent to the atrium’s exterior glass curtain walls, which allow large amounts of natural light from the outside.
CAFCO® 300 was utilized on structural-steel columns, beams, and decking in areas where a commercial-density Spray-Applied Fire Resistive Material (SFRM) was specified. In areas requiring commercial-density SFRM that are concealed behind finished ceilings and gypsum wallboard, CAFCO 300 was chosen because of its superior fire resistive performance per unit thickness and in-place physical property characteristics.
CAFCO® FENDOLITE® M-II/TG was applied to structural-steel columns in the below-grade baggage handling areas where an extremely hard, durable, high-density SFRM was specified. The superior physical performance and thermal efficiency of FENDOLITE M-II/TG made it the choice for application in these demanding areas.
